About the Customer
Supplying Clean Water for Modern Aquaculture Vessels
The aquaculture industry is evolving rapidly, with increasing demands for efficiency, sustainability, and biosecurity. Wellboats – specialized vessels used to transport live fish and manage water quality during transport – play a crucial role in maintaining healthy fish stocks.
Customer and Project Overview
Mowi (previously know as Marine Harvest) and DESS Aquaculture Shipping, a joint venture between Mowi and Deep Sea Supply, commissioned two state-of-the-art wellboats to support their growing aquaculture operations. Built by Artic Group AS and designed by SEACON, the 77-meter-long Aqua Tromøy features a 3,000 m³ tank capacity and advanced onboard systems for fish welfare and water treatment.
Our Delivery
Reliable Freshwater Production at Sea
Enwa Water Technology supplied a high-capacity reverse osmosis (RO) system with a production rate of 6,000 m³/day, complete with ultrafiltration (UF) pretreatment. The system ensures a continuous supply of clean, high-quality water essential for fish health and vessel operations.
The RO and UF units are designed for durability and energy efficiency in demanding marine environments, providing a chemical-free and environmentally responsible solution aligned with the aquaculture industry’s sustainability goals.
Ensuring Quality and Performance
Installed onboard Aqua Tromøy at Myklebust Verft in Norway, the Enwa system supports the vessel’s mission to maintain optimal water conditions during fish transport and handling. With advanced monitoring and automation, the system delivers stable performance and secure operation – a vital contribution to modern, sustainable fish farming.
